Cleaner and better Boracay
If you are planning to visit Boracay soon, be advised of the new rules and guidelines implemented after the reopening. One of the things that you should keep in mind is that advance reservation is now required before you can enter Boracay. Yes, they will check for your hotel voucher or proof of confirmed booking at Caticlan Jetty Port. And make sure that the accommodation where you will be staying is in the list of DOT-accredited Boracay hotels and resorts.
A few months after the reopening of Boracay, I couldn't be more excited when I had the opportunity to visit the new Boracay. A few weeks leading to the trip, I made all the preparations including looking for the best yet affordable accommodation in the island. I remember seeing Agos Boracay Rooms and Beds from a friend's Instagram post about 2 years ago and I bookmarked it right away. I read the positive reviews and their recognition and awards from popular booking sites, and saw the photos of the place online, and since then, I told my self to check out this place in my next Boracay trip. And that day finally happened.
Close to nature ambiance
1. Strategic Location
Agos Boracay Rooms and Bed is a family-run guesthouse that is conveniently located in Station 2. To be exact, they are situated along the Main Road so it's very easy to find. It can be reached around 15 minutes by car from Cagban Port. Alight in front of the Agos Boracay signage where a 40-step of stairs will lead you to the property.
They are located in the entertainment heart of Boracay yet away from the party and street noise - a perfect combination of accessibility and privacy. Also, D' Mall and the world-famous White Beach are only 5 minutes walk away while Bulabog Beach is 15 minutes on foot from the resort. Their location for me is one of the best in the island.

2. Spacious and Cozy Rooms and Great Amenities
Another thing that stood out for me about Agos Boracay are their wonderful rooms. They have a total of 28 rooms and five different room types. We stayed in their Family Room which I really loved. I'm very impressed at how spacious and homy their rooms are. The Asian modern design plus the cozy vibe will truly make you feel at home! As an adventure traveler, you'd normally expect me outside all the time exploring the place but with Agos Boracay, I didn't want to go out and just wanted to stay inside our room all day!
Family Room - First floor with 4 pull-out beds
Family Room - Second floor with double bed
The Family Room features 4 pull-out beds on the first floor and a double bed on the second floor. Yes, it has two floors and it can fit up to 6 persons - great for family or group of friends. I also recommend the other version of their Family Room which has a view. Their Superior and Deluxe rooms (2 double sized beds) are good for up to 4 persons. For long staying guests, couples or solo travelers, their Superior Double room (1 double sized bed) which can fit up to 2 persons is recommended. They offer weekly, monthly and long term stay.

All of their rooms have an aircon, ceiling fan, personal refrigerator, safety deposit box, bathroom with hot and cold shower, water kettle for coffee/tea, fresh linens, towels and toiletries, and cable LED TV. They also offer free WIFI, daily replenishment of bottled water and coffee, daily housekeeping and island tours. Take note though that depending on the location of the room, WIFI signal varies. You may experience moderate to weak signal if your room is far from the modem.

The beds are comfortable and despite the size of the room, the aircon can cool the entire room very well. I didn't hear any single noise outside at night (especially noise from cars and tricycle) so I was able to sleep soundly for 2 nights.
One particular feature that I liked are the floor-length windows which can be opened to let the island breeze in. All their Family Rooms are situated at the top-most (fourth) floor where you can find the sundeck area. Guests can lounge here and be amazed by the panoramic view of the White Beach on one side, and Bulabog Beach on the other. You can also mesmerize at the sunrise and sunset view at the roofdeck.

3. Delicious Breakfast at The Rising Sun
Agos Boracay doesn't have their own restaurant but they offered us free breakfast through The Rising Sun, a small restaurant beside the property. Service was fast and the staff from the restaurant were so warm and friendly. Just a tip: You will get the free daily breakfast only when you book directly through their website.
They have several options for breakfast such as Filipino, American and Continental breakfast, and the servings were larger than I expected. I especially love the tapa and tocino. They surprisingly tasted good!
4. Accommodating and Friendly Staff
Like I mentioned, Agos Boracay is a family-run resort and the Filipino hospitality is very apparent on their attentive service and fantastic staff. It felt like we were part of the family. From arrival to check out, I was nothing but impressed by the service.
Upon our arrival to the resort, we were served with some sweet treats, cold towel and a refreshing drink. Every time we passed the reception area or came across a staff, we were always greeted and met with a smile.

Since the resort is located on a hill and requires climbing of stairs, you can ring the bell by pulling the string found on the signage pole on the main road and a staff will come to you to assist with your luggages. I thought it's clever that they use an old fashioned pull string doorbell instead of an electric one.
There is a security guard on duty at night to ensure safety and security of the guests. They also let you use beach towels for free whenever you need one before hitting the beach.

5. Affordable Yet Quality Rooms and Service
Given the high quality service, rooms and amenities, it seems like you're paying for an expensive hotel but, in fact, their room rates are affordable.
Their room rate starts at P2,900 for Superior Double in Low Season (June 15 - October 30). The Family Room where we stayed starts at P5,000 for 4 persons and an additional P600 per person per night (maximum of 2 extra persons). So if you're traveling in a group of 6, you will only be paying around P1033 per person per night when you stay in the Family Room. Sobrang sulit! It feels like you're paying for a 5-star experience at an affordable price!
Please see their current rates below:
Apart from these, what made Agos Boracay one of the best accommodations for me is their reputation and recognition. If you don't trust me, their guests say it all on their testimonies, reviews, ratings, and feedback online. No wonder they received the following awards and recognition from top booking sites:
- Tripadvisor Top 9 B&B/Inn in the Philippines
- 4-Time Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Winner (2015-2018) - This elite honor is given to less than 1% of properties in the world
- 4-Time Booking.com Excellence Awardee (2014-2017) - This award recognizes the best properties that offered great guest experiences
- 3-Time Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence (2015-2017)
- Agoda Gold Circle Awardee (2015) & Guest Review Award (2018)

And as I mentioned, you need to book with a DOT-accredited hotel or resort when going to Boracay. You don't have to worry as Agos Boracay is among the establishments permitted to operate.
Visiting the new Boracay plus staying in Agos Boracay Rooms and Beds equal an amazing experience in this island paradise. I can't actually wait to go back to Boracay not only to experience its white-sand beach and amazing sunset but to stay in Agos Boracay once again.
